Construction Coordinator

We are seeking a safety conscious Construction Coordinator with broad EPC experience in Field Engineering, Inspection, and Quality Assurance to support Construction activities at our client’s site in Calgary, AB. Our client is constructing a pilot plant with a modularized design on a greenfield site. Work is expected to be executed in stages with Phase I – Piling and Earthworks - commencing December 2021 and running for approximately 2 - 4 weeks.

Role Accountabilities
  • Act as an agent for the site owner providing onsite leadership, HSE support, inspection support, and coordination during the construction period.
  • Interface between the Rally, the site owner, the site contractor, and 3rd party suppliers and coordinate contractor Request for Information (RFI) submissions.
  • Provide daily and weekly progress summary reports.


Experience
Successful candidate is a professional with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role. Preference given to those with plant site experience and the following skills, experience, and knowledge:
  • Demonstrating awareness of HSE practices and ensuring work is completed in a safe and responsible manner. Completes field level risk assessments and fosters an active safety culture on the worksite.
  • Maintaining contractor performance, budget, schedule, and quality of construction activities.
  • Facilitating communication and information exchange with Project Stakeholders to resolve technical issues, quality concerns, and project issues.
  • Making decisions / recommendations using established construction management tools, standards, and processes.
  • Reviewing change requests and making recommendations to ensure scope changes are in accordance with Contract Terms and Conditions.
  • Offering practical advice or possible resolution for items of concern that may arise during construction, equipment installation, and commissioning phases of the project.

  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction, industry practices, estimating / budgeting, scheduling, and safety requirements.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to work with dynamic and diverse groups, facilitate effective meetings, explore varying perspectives, hold others accountable, and align and lead a team to drive the project.
  • Established reputation for consistently meeting commitments.
  • Use of metrics in the measurement and management of performance to support decisions.
  • Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information to a variety of audiences.


Covid-19 Vaccination / Testing Requirement
  • Proof of full vaccination (having obtained all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, including the two (2) week period (or longer where required) following receipt of the final dose, OR
  • Proof of a negative COVID-19 RAS (rapid antigen screening) test administered within the previous 72-hours. Where the successful candidate elects to provide proof of a negative RAS test, any time / costs associated with the tests is the responsibility of the successful candidate.


Required
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driver’s abstract.
