Mechanical Lead Engineer
Rally Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Industrial Mechanical Department in Sarnia ON.
WHAT YOU BRING Motivated self-starter and team contributor with up to a minimum of 10 years’ progressive engineering experience, within an EPCM / industrial plant environment along with the following:
Key Competencies- Mechanical Engineering design experience for Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, Fertilizer and/or Power EPC.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support on technical issues (mentor more junior engineers / designers).
- Coordinate with Project Leads and Designers to ensure timely receipt and delivery of information.
- Prepare reports / estimates (man-hour estimates, deliverable lists, discipline lead status reports, etc.).
- Prepare project deliverables (engineering/construction work packages, study reports, basis of design, etc.).
Technical Competencies (in one or more areas)Mechanical Equipment design:- Prepare specifications, data sheets, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations for mechanical equipment; ensure conformance to established standards.
- Input to EPC estimates.
Piping & static equipment design:- Stress analysis - visual, manual calculations, and/or stress modelling (Caesar II or equiv.).
- Vessel nozzle load assessment
- WRC107/297vessel stress assessment
- Pipe support design and specification
- Piping isometrics and detailed drawings review and stamping
Design Experience with the following codes and standards considered an asset (in one or more areas):- Process Piping per ASME B31.3
- Boilers & Pressure Vessels per ASME VIII-1/2
- Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers per TEMA / API 660
- Air Cooled Exchangers per API 661
- Atmospheric Storage Tanks per API 650/653
- Fired Heaters per API 560
- Centrifugal / PD Pumps per API 610/674/675
- Alterations to Pressure Vessels & Piping per API 510/570 & NBIC NB-23
- Welding Specification per ASME IX
Requirements- Degree in engineering from accredited university; must be registered with governing provincial body and havean engineering stamp.
