Part Time / Casual HSE Advisor
We are seeking a results-oriented Health and Safety Advisor with 5+ years of progressive experience implementing and managing health and safety programs, coupled with a solid working knowledge of HSE Management System Auditing (specifically with IHSA COR), and current knowledge of relevant legislation / regulations (OH&S Act, Canada Labour Code, Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Act and their applications to various worksites).
Major Role Accountabilities- Maintain HSE program records and aid in ensuring office is COR ready
- Monitor compliance to applicable HSE regulations, codes and standards
- Remain abreast of regulatory changes, client requirements, training resources and techniques
- Participate in development of risk assessments and review / maintain records
- Provide reference materials, technical advice, training and support to personnel
- Monitor training competencies / qualifications and workplace programs
- Assist in identification and interpretation of HSE regulations, codes and standards
- Work closely with management team to increase field level safety knowledge and presence
- Ensure Contractors attend HSE training and have competent resources
- Participate in / conduct incident investigation / root cause analysis; follow-up on corrective actions
- Administer legislated HSE programs
- Participate in meetings relevant to HSE
- Support implementation of Rally Behaviour Observation (RBO) Program
- Conduct routine inspections and audits of work activities and issue formal reports identifying compliance / non-compliance with HSE management system (policies, standards, safe work practices and safe work procedures)
Keys for Success- Experience in high risk heavy industries an asset.
- Formal training in occupational health and safety, CRSP, CSP, NCSO certification an asset
- Exceptional interpersonal (verbal / written) skills coupled with a collaborative working style for building relationships
Required- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid driver’s license
