Senior Electrical Engineer
Successful candidate is a motivated self-starter and team contributor, with 8-15 years’ experience within an EPCM environment, and brings the following demonstrated experience:
- Develop project specific electrical engineering requirements through the preparation of design basis documents (design criteria) and identifying / confirming standards and specifications to be used, based on client requests
- Identify, prepare, authenticate (stamp) key deliverables (single line diagrams, electrical layouts, detailed wiring diagrams, etc.), conforming to internal and external requirements throughout various project stages (scoping studies, detailed design, etc.)
- Experience evaluating and determining hazardous area classification utilizing industry and client standards; performing fugitive emission and required natural ventilation calculations
- Experience identifying the extent of the electrical studies required; performing and authenticating detailed short circuit, load flow, motor starting, relay coordination and arc flash hazard analysis using ETAP and SKM
- Identify required equipment, create required material requisitions and prepare engineering specifications / datasheets based on technical requirements. Review bids and prepare technical bid evaluations, review and approved vendor drawings; coordinate with project management and procurement groups from the bid through final delivery and commissioning
- Interface between engineering disciplines, project engineer, project manager and Client to ensure timely delivery and accuracy of information
- Lead a team of discipline engineers, designers and CAD operators to accomplish all aspects of required work to ensure technical integrity and designs per Company and Client standards / specifications
- Prepare man-hour requirements; define project deliverables and coordinate with Department Head for resources. Plan, monitor, review project scope, schedule, costs, and quality of completed work and complete reports

- Ability to effectively manage numerous, and shifting, priorities with tight timelines
- Demonstrated knowledge of CDN electrical code; proficient with using tables and rules to perform electrical design
- Preparation of deliverables and ensure conformance to established standards throughout project stages
Required - 4-year degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university
- Registration with the provincial engineering body (APEGA) and an engineering seal
