Senior Mechanical Engineer & Branch Manager

Successful candidate is a motivated self-starter and team contributor with 20+ years diverse, progressive experience within an EPCM environment and specialization in food processing plants. This dual role requires an individual with a broad range of capabilities and experience to support a growing office focused on providing fit-for-purpose solutions for brown-field and sustaining capital projects; candidate must specialize in, or have demonstrated progressive experience with:

  • Integrated background of mechanical engineering design
  • Site-based project management experience in operating facilities (manufacturing, industrial, food processing, etc.)
  • Diverse project services for pre-planning, detailed design, procurement, construction, implementation, and ongoing operational phases of new and existing value-added processes, facilities, and working environments
  • Developing strategies to capitalize on opportunities within the New Brunswick / Maritimes market
  • Interfacing with clients and stewarding relationships to support current / anticipated project opportunities
  • Acting as the Project Manager for a specific project opportunity and / or ensure seamless project transitions
  • Working closely with Proposal Leads to manage RFPs and proposals
  • Complete resource plans and identify staffing opportunities in support of project work
  • Regular engagement with, and reporting to, Head Office to ensure alignment of goals / objectives
  • Manage and oversee corporate budget for facilities management


Keys for Success
  • Familiarity with ASME and CSA codes
  • Writing technical specifications and study reports
  • Deliverable checking to ensure compliance with established standards
  • Preparing key deliverables (P&ID’s, data sheets, MR’s, CWP’s, HVAC design, pipe stress reports, etc.)
  • In-depth experience with design of industrial equipment (e.g. vessels, tanks, pumps, compressors, materials handling)
  • Provide oversight to ensure quality and resolve technical issues; guide and support more junior engineers / designers
  • Manage project schedule commitments; coordinate deliverables and interface with project members and disciplines
  • Prepare, review and control project discipline schedule and manpower loading
  • Ensure quality of deliverables
  • Prepare proposals, cost of services estimates and deliverables lists
  • Anticipate change and develop growth plans
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organized and dedicated team player with a client-service mindset
  • Analyze, plan, prioritize, negotiate, and execute business’ strategic goals


Required
  • 4-year degree in engineering from an accredited university
  • Registration with the provincial engineering body and an engineering stamp
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driver’s abstract
  • Regular travel in support of business and project development
