Project Overview
The client had an existing electrical service building (ESB) which housed various electrical equipment up to 5kv nearing its end-of-life. This warranted replacement of the ESB and its entire contents. As the existing electrical building provided power to 5 kV main line pumps, part of the project requirement was to minimize shutdown time to save on production cost. This required the project to strategize on the design to minimize shutdown. Rally had to work closely with construction and operations to achieve this task. To achieve this requirement the existing 5 kV outdoor substation feeding the ESB had to be replaced as well.
- Prepared material requisitions (MRs) for the procurement of electrical service building (ESB), 5kV switchgear, 5kV MCC, 5kV capacitors, 480V MCC, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), programmable logic controller (PLC).
- Utilized 3D modelling and scanning technology to create 3D model of existing facility, resulting in a cost saving of as-builts and field visits.
- Prepared construction work packages (CWPs) for detailed engineering and provided construction support.
- Worked with client operations and construction group to ensure successful execution of the project.
