The project was executed in several phases. The original out-of-service tank was emptied, cut apart, and hauled away. Live piping and cables adjacent to the original tank were disconnected and demolished to the edges of the tank berm.
A new 80,000 barrel API 650 column-supported cone roof tank was constructed atop a new tank pad foundation. A cathodic protection system and a Teranap elastomeric bitumen geomembrane liner were built into the granular foundation. Piping, electrical, and instrument connections were made to the new tank. The surrounding berms were reshaped for erosion protection, and the finished surface of the tank cell was regraded towards a new drainage sump.
Construction Work Packages (CWPs) were delivered for tank and piping demolition, new tank completions and piping connections, earthworks, concrete / piling, grouting, structural steel, electrical and instrumentation work. Rally provided construction support for all CWPs.
Material Requisitions were delivered to enable the purchase of the new API 650 tank, stairs, and rooftop platform; miscellaneous piping specialty items; tank cathodic protection system; tank level, temperature, and pressure instruments; control valves, MOVs, and pressure-relief valves.
